Hey hey hey, five in a row. What do ya know?!
Recalling my earlier post I prayed that the Iron Bowl emotions would come back to me. They did. It only took ten seconds of the CBS pre-roll for tears to well up as I ran to the Dickel. It was an Iron Bowl for the ages as each team had chances and never gave up. It wasn’t a flawless game on either side nor lived up to the billing as games from the past but the outcome was special. Tommy Tuberville becomes only the second coach in AU history to win five straight against the in-state rival. The “low school” is riding high!
And heroes, names for the ages? Try Quentin Groves. Groves had seven tackles, two sacks that forced two fumbles that led to 14 points for the Tigers. There’s no doubt this game will go down in Auburn lore as the “Groves” game.
